What are the possible ways of assessing students’ prior knowledge and skills?  What evidence will we look for? 

Prior knowledge:

• Responding to poetry
• Tuning into poetry

What are the possible ways of assessing student learning in the context of the lines of inquiry? What evidence will we look for?

Formative:

• Video mid way reflection
• I wonders – Students record what they are wondering about on stickies and pin to the display board.

Minor summative:

• Poetry assessment checkbric – Assessment of the student’s poetry portfolio
• Explaining writing choices – Assessing student’s ability to explain and justify purpose/audience and use of different device to evoke emotion.
