Online Agreements

This is a list of guidelines everyone should follow when online.
Grade 5 believe when online we should:

  1. Only post information we want everyone (students, teachers, parents, friends and others) to see.
Think: Is this something I want everyone to see?
  2. Never share personal information online.
Think: Can someone find me with this information?
  3. Always acknowledge where we get our information from.
Think: Where did I get this picture from? What did I read to come up with these ideas?
  4. Make sure our digital desk is up to date.
Think: What do I need to include in my post?
  5. Know who our audience is.
Think: Who will be reading this?
  6. Use appropriate language and images.
Think: Would I want people to speak to me or show me things like this?
  7. Only post information we can verify is true – no gossiping or spreading rumors.
Think: Is this negative, inappropriate or bullying?
  8. Use appropriate spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Think: Would we want this work to be graded using the writing rubric?
  9. Respect others by giving constructive comments and remembering to comment on someone who has commented on our posts.
Think: Is my comment going to help the person write the best post they possibly can? Posting a comment like, “Good job,” is not going to help them improve their post.
If you agree to accept these guidelines, then write your name and click ‘post comment’ in the comment box below .
