Zoo, by Anthony Browne

In this sophisticated picture book by Anthony Browne, the contrast between the literal text and what is inferred in the pictures delivers a very strong message. 

Step 1: As a class, read through ZOO on the screen.

Step 2: Download the Zoo note taking sheet and Zoo keynote (the link above). (everyone)

Step 3: As a class,complete the first row of the note taking sheet for the first page of the book (at the entrance). Look at the picture carefully-there is more to it than at first you think 

Step 4: In teams of three, go ahead and complete the rest of the note taking sheet for the rest of the pages. IMPORTANT: Apart from the first page, every other page has two pictures accompanying it-the one above the text, and the picture following (that has no text)
